Prebuilt is a wordpress theme focusing on helping you learn wordpress, rather than spilling a whole bunch of files in your face and saying “good luck”. Prebuilt contains commented code so you can figure out just exactly what you’re doing without much hassle.
Introduction
Prebuilt was created not to be heavily graphical and feature a lot of ajax goodness, but to be effective while at the same time, an easy way of learning WordPress. Working in harmony with our series on WordPress Customization, Prebuilt can become your new favorite theme.

The latest version of prebuilt, pb2, features the same features 2,000+ users loved, plus a few extras that have been requested since launch.
- Clean Commented Code – Know exactly what you’re doing, because we’re cleaned the code up and organized everything.
- Flick Integration – Using the Flickrss plugin (included), pull your most recent flickr photos from yourself, a group, or a pool.
- Pure Code And Css – An extremely lightweight design.
- NEW! Multiple Stylesheets – Now use the Prebuilt Customize panel to select between multiple stylesheets. Included are default (red), blue, and web 2.0 (whites).

Installation
- Extract the prebuilt zip to a folder somewhere on your desktop.
- Upload entire prebuilt folder as is to …”wp-content/themes/”, leaving
the structure as is. - To make things easier, change permissions on header, footer, index, and
style to 666 or higher.
If you’re upgrading, simple backup your prebuilt 1 installation and overwrite version two to the same folder, or create a new folder and upload the theme there.

Prebuilt is available in a small zip. Once downloaded, follow the instructions above to install the theme. Also, it is very important that you read the read me, it contains additional installation information as well as links to resources to help you with your new theme.
