This holiday season we here at Devlounge are thankful for a lot. We’re happy we’ve made it through 8 months of serving you, and things are only going to get better. We’re thankful for having a strong reader base, some incredible authors, and Akismet for blocking a lot of spam.
And now we’re giving some of our thanks back to you.
A Very Long Titled Giveaway
The Very Merry Mass Promotion Holiday Giveaway is a simple contest which turns into a massive holiday gift for one lucky winner. The idea is simple. You submit your site for review by the entire Devlounge staff. Next, the winning website is notified on December 25th and we send out a load of prizes (many of which are TBD at the moment) right to them. That’s one hell of a holiday season.
How to enter
Entering is easy. Simply fill out a form and send $10 to us. The $10 is used to put together an amazing prize pack. The more entries, the most prizes. There’s no limit at how big of a prize the top site will receive.
If $10 sounds like a scam to you, rest assured, we’re about holiday cheer, not holiday fear. Consider that the price pack will probably exceed a value of $1,000, and think how a small $10 submission fee really won’t hurt if you have a chance to walk away with a huge prize pack all for yourself.
Prizes
The prices will vary throughout the entire submission process. As we receive more and more entries, more and more prizes will be added to the grand prize. Watch here for a freshly updating prize list, but here are some of the prizes we are starting off with:
- Video Ipod (GB’s TBD soon)
- Flickr Pro Account
- Subscription to your choice of a web application
- Your winning site featured on Devlounge, as well as an exclusive post contest interview.
Judging
Judging will be done by the entire Devlounge staff team and a few special invitees who will be able to have a look at all the submitted sites. Sites will be judged on aesthetics, design, innovation, and presentation. We want to see XHTML & CSS valid sites, sites that push the boundaries or create something entirely new, or amazing quality flash sites. It’s up to you, but in the end, only the best will walk away with some killer gear.

Contest Rules & Deadlines
Now here’s all that mumbo-jumbo you don’t really care about but we have to say to protect ourselves from random lawsuits from site rippers who try to submit stolen designs.
Devlounge Presents a Holiday 2006 Promotion (November – December) titled “Very Merry Mass Promotion Holiday Giveaway”. This contest judges visitor submitted sites on aesthetics, coding quality, innovation, and presentation. All sites must be unique and created or owned by the person submitting them. Prizes include a Video Ipod, Flickr Pro Account, cash, and other variating prizes which will depend on the amount of entries. You are limited to one site submission only. Submitting the same site multiple times will result in automatic disqualification from judging and prizes, without refund. All profit generated from the contest will be turned into more prizes for the Devlounge community, and will not be used for personal benefit. You may be required to pay a small portion of any shipping fees that may be associated with certain prizes depending on your location and total entry money intake. The contest runs from 12 PM EST time on November 23, 2006 and ends on December 17th, 2006 at 12 PM EST to allow time for judging to occur. Any submissions following that period will be ignored.
