A little odd to be on this side of the ball, but our buddies at Fadtastic recently conducted and interview with me. We discuss a lot of different things, including the reason behind the creation of Devlounge, tips for young designers, the issue of age vs surving on the web, a few other topics. It was fun getting a chance to answer questions rather than type out my own this time around. The only downside was Andrew Faulkner (Fadtastic Admin) was recently interview for FT as well, so we couldn’t get a 1 for 1 admin interview switch. Anyways, enough talk, feel free to head over to Fadtastic to give the interview a read.
Calling All Writers
Hello Devlounge community. I’m writing this post not as another site news update, not to annoy your feed reader with a cry for help, but a genuine and heartfelt need for additional writers. Devlounge has grown tremendously, and as we get closer to that 100,000 unique visitor mark, providing our visitors with fresh weekly content is a priority to us.
It hit me today while I was putting together the new authors index (finally) that we really have no authors. Ronalfy and myself anchor just about all of the posts, which makes it hard to service an entire design community with different content. There’s only so much you can write about in a given amount of time without recovering a topic you talked about just a few articles back. Prash has been busy getting some of his own projects off the ground to participate as well.
We are in need of a staff of 10 quality writers, who care about their readers and will put out new and original pieces as often as they can, to help ensure Devlounge remains a top contender in the design and development community. We’d like to hear from you if you are interested, but please seriously consider the amount of dedication you’ll be able to give to Devlounge before getting in touch with us. We’ve gone through many contributors who haven’t done much contributing, either because they forgot about the site or they have been just too busy.
If you are interested in joining the Devlounge team, please visit the contact page and drop me a line as soon as possible. Providing references to a current blog / site or things you have written will greatly help, because we like to see that you know what you’re talking about.
With your help we will continue to bring quality content to our visitors.
Thanks for reading.

Updates On Some Things
There are a few issues we’d like to update everyone on, and I thought I’d cover them today.
As many of you frequent visitors may know, we’re beginning the process of putting together the next version of Devlounge, DL3, which will be a total remake of the site. With it will come multiple staff changes and a total rebuilding of Devlounge as you know it. No longer will it seem like the gaps between fresh content are weeks and weeks apart. We’re still looking for talented and experienced people to get involved with this one, so have a look at the DL3 page for some more information and to apply.
Next we’ll cover the issue of one of our interviews being removed. One of our authors decided today that he would removed his interview with Cameron Adams, and deleted it without allowing me anytime to replace the article with an announcement about it being moved. So if you run into any dead links, I’m sorry about this. This is just one of the reasons why we will restaff most of Devlounge following the completion of DL3.
Finally, our coutnerparts at Fadtastic added us to their footer feed today, a big thanks to them! We have our own ajax feed displayer feature planned for DL3, we’ll be sure to include them :).
